FederationX Model Editor is an extended HLA object model editor. The interface is organized specifically for the creation of MORPH-DSL models, but it fully supports the IEEE Object Model Template.
Note: FX Model Editor is available as a public beta release. The beta version will not allow you to add more than 10 object classes and interactions to any one model. This restriction will be removed in the future commercial release of the software.
Features
- Supports the IEEE 1516.2-2000 standard for the Object Model Template (OMT).
Models created using FX Model Editor are completely IEEE OMT compliant. OMT models may be loaded and saved with ease in the XML DIF format.
- Support for BOM models.
Basic Object Models (BOM) are currently in development, so the specification may change. As this occurs, FX Model Editor will be updated to match.
- Extensible to support saving and loading of future IEEE standards.
Aside from the built-in raw XML output, all load and save modules are plug-ins. This allows for the addition of future file formats at any time in the future.
- Extensible to support new model constructs available in the future.
FX Model Editor's entire tree structure is defined through XML files. These files control the organization of nodes as well as what data may be edited for each node. Model Editor's entire operation may be altered easily by merely editing these XML configuration files.
- Dynamic validation of models.
If an aspect of the model is invalid, the node and all of its parent nodes are highlighted in red. This "quiet" validation does not interfere with the editing process, does not "nag" the user with dialog boxes, and does not prevent work from being saved.
