Duncan Suttles - President
Duncan is one of the founders of Magnetar Games, formerly known as Ibis Research. Duncan's expertise stems from his experience in a variety of fields. His success as an International Grandmaster of Chess combined with his B.Sc. in Mathematics allowed him to develop a strategic mind which greatly aids with the continuous development of the company. Twenty years of experience in the computer industry together with his role as the architect of OMEN II--the world's first PC resident full stock market quotation system--permits Duncan to maintain a clear vision of Magnetar's future.
Duncan was founder and President of two previous companies, Microstat Development, publisher of successful Omen stock quotation system, and Grandmaster Technologies.
Reggie Chen - Lead Programmer
Ten years of experience in developing professional software systems in areas such as database, communication, and simulation, along with enthusiasm and openness to explore new technologies, make Reggie an invaluable asset to Magnetar's team. Graduating with an MBA in Information System and a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics, Reggie was able to develop the
artillery target-monitoring system for Matsu Defence Garrison Taiwan and more recently publish a paper with the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization on collaborative tool interfaces. Reggie's newest venture is Magnetar, which he and Duncan--sharing the same visions on software development--co-founded in 1997. Reggie's duties are to lead and coordinate the programming effort at Magnetar.
Dobrila Suttles - Public Relations
Dobrila's strong sense of team spirit and unique, shiny personality pull the company together. She coordinates Magnetar's public relations, including the financing of the company, shareholder relationships, and company administration. Since she took her first steps in the public relations field in 1983, Dobrila has successfully started and fully financed three public companies.
Miranda Paugh - Lead Design
Mandi is the expert designer at Magnetar. She is the webmaster and games designer and programmer and artist, all in one. Mandi is the jack of all trades, but her specialties are HTML, game design, and application user-interfaces. Mandi graduated from DigiPen Institute of Technology. She completed a two-year programming course and a year of work experience and became the school's first female graduate.
Ryan Levere - Software Engineer
Ryan's specialty is DirectX programming and 3-D. He graduated with excellence from the DigiPen School of Applied Computer Graphics where he obtained his diploma in the Art and Science of 2-D and 3-D Video Game Programming. Ryan is the lead coder on Magnetar's staff.
Dawn Mair - Technical Writer
Dawn is the Technical Writer at Magnetar games. She is in charge of writing
content for the websites, clarifying technical specifications and creating help
file and manuals. She graduated with honours from the University of Guelph
earning a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences and a physics minor. Dawn joined the Magnetar Team in early 2006.
Larry Crema, CGA - Chief Financial Officer
Larry is a Certified General Accountant, with extensive experience in the New Media and Publishing industries. His r
sponsibilities have included strategic planning initiatives, international operations and all aspects of corporate and financial management and administration. Joining Magnetar in July 2001, Larry's responsibilities are to guide the development and execution of the company's business plan and strategy, to oversee the company's financing efforts and to manage Magnetar's corporate and strategic financial affairs.
David W. Smalley, B.A., LL.B. - Corporate Secretary
Mr. David Smalley is a commercial and securities lawyer, who has extensive experience in assisting high-tech companies with their corporate, commercial, and securities legal issues and strategizing their equity financing. He has been a partner of Fraser & Company for four years. Mr. Smalley has been, and continues to be, legal counsel for successful businesses that are in the process of, or have become, publicly traded companies. He is currently the corporate secretary of VSE-listed Biomax Technologies Inc. (VSE:BIX). Mr. Smalley has been with Magnetar Games since August 1999.
Tony Parisi - Advisory Board of Directors Member
Media Machines founder and president Tony Parisi is a technology pioneer and accomplished entrepreneur at the forefront of Internet New Media. Tony is co-creator of the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML), and is widely recognized as an expert in standards, technologies, and emerging markets for interactive rich media. Tony is spearheading the development of Flux, and is also a lead editor and co-chair of the Extensible 3D (X3D) Specification.
Steve is the former cofounder of Canadian Publisher Strategy First and has been involved in the gaming industry for over 15 years. While at Strategy First, he spearheaded the companies move from developer to publisher. During his tenure, the company achieved dramatic results and was listed 9th overall out of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Canada based on its earnings from the years 1998 to 2002. This achievement was recognized on the Deloitte and Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50. Steve worked on all aspects of the business as Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Business Development and was involved in the launch of over 100 titles, including the Disciples Franchise, the Kohan series, Platoon and many others. After leaving Strategy First in 2003, Steve became the Vice President of Business Development for French Publisher, Wanadoo Edition. Steve has since gone on to create his own consulting company, Mammoth Entertainment and has worked with and represented many leading developers and publishers worldwide.
